As the days dwindle down to the single digits, I think about this place.

How in a few months I’ll be gone. Out in the real world.

Facing challenges, adversity, and maybe someday finding love.

How when our caps are thrown and our last boxes are packed,

I leave the place I’ve known so long.

The place I’ve lived, played, and grown

To go to places I don’t already know.

No more plaid skirts, no more high school dances, no more Friday night football.

Just the memories and impact its left on my heart.

No more pep rallies, no more chapels, no more homecoming videos

Just a few more days, and then we’re set to go.

But before I leave, I have something to say.

I’m thankful for the laughs, the learning, and the love I endured, here, every single day.

When we walk that stage, it’s our final goodbye.

We’ll grab our bags and hug our parents to the side.

Some classmates friends I’ll never see again; I’m trying hard not to cry…

There’s no turning back, our new chapter in life.
